My Babcia's dying -- I just said goodbye to her. It's OK, she's surrounded by people she loves, she's comfortable and safe. I'm so glad I got to tell her how much I love her and I'm glad I got to hear her voice one more time.
oh! I'm so sorry! your Babcia is the coolest grandmother ever. Tell everyone about the time she came out and "danced" for you and what she was wearing.
I'm glad you got to talk to her too. you were definitely her favorite.
Ah yes...the "Christmas Card" story...this was probably 6 or 7 years ago, when I was living with the Babcia...she was trying on all these dresses she got from her dead friend Josephine. She would parade into the living room and twirl aroudn in one dress after another.
Then I hear her say from her bedroom "You're going to love this one! I want you to take my picture in it; we'll make a Christmas card out of it for your father"
And in comes my 5'3" 180 pound Babcia, wearing nothing but a giant pair of white cotton underpants. She's dancing around and shaking her booty and laughing and going "Whoooooooo!" She is a hilarious lady.
Thanks. I'm OK. My dad is in a really bad mood, though. It's funny -- he was all about her dying five years ago and now that she actually is, he's not necessarily recognizing it...although today he did inform me of her having requested a burial uphill and over my grandfather, as opposed to next to him.

I'm sorry! How are you?
Thank you for sharing this story, and thanking for taking after her, hilarity-wise.
